Overlay zoning districts address special siting, use and compatibility issues which require unique development regulations in addition to those of the underlying zoning districts. Whenever regulations in an overlay zoning district impose greater standards than those required by the base zoning district, the more restrictive standards apply. The zoning code would authorize the establishment of zoning overlay districts, however separate ordinances are required to designate each district. (Ord. 28-2017. Passed 10-2-17.)
