7-2-3: HOUSE NUMBERING:
   A.   Numbers Required: The village clerk shall assign, and keep a map showing, the proper street number for every lot and building within the village. The street number for every lot and building within the village shall correspond to the street from which the lot takes access to and from the village street system. For all new construction and in the event of dual street access, the street the building faces will determine the assigned address. The village clerk shall assign a street number for each lot prior to the issuance of any building permit with respect to said lot. (Ord. 613-94, 9-12-1994)
   B.   Specifications For Number: It shall be the duty of the owners and occupants of each building located within the village to have placed thereon the street number of such building in arabic numerals at least four inches (4") high. Said street number shall be placed in a location and manner so as to be visible from the street to persons approaching the property from either direction. The street number for buildings on corner lots shall be placed so as to be visible from the street from which the lot takes access to and from the village street system. In the event that such street number cannot be placed upon such building so as to be visible from the street as required hereinabove, the street number shall be placed so as to be visible from the street to persons approaching the property from either direction, upon the mailbox serving the building or, if such mailbox is not located upon the same zoning lot as such building, upon a marker forty two inches (42") in height, located twelve inches (12") from the street pavement. It shall be the further duty of the owners and occupants of every nonresidential building located within the village to have placed upon the rear of such building the street number of such building in Arabic numerals at least four inches (4") high.
   C.   Penalty: Any person found guilty of a violation of this section shall be subject to penalty as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code. Each day that a violation is permitted to exist shall constitute a separate offense. (Ord. 570-93, 8-16-1993)
