A. As a part of any franchise ordinance adopted, the city may impose upon the grantee a franchise fee. The franchise fee shall be expressed as a specified charge per cubic foot of gas transmitted, furnished, delivered or received, which fee shall be calculated by the city council and imposed upon every cubic foot of gas transmitted, furnished, delivered or received within the city. The franchise fee may be changed by ordinance from time to time; however, no change shall be adopted until at least thirty (30) days after written notice enclosing such proposed ordinance has been served upon the grantee by certified mail. The franchise fee may not be changed more often than once in each calendar year. (Ord. 210, 5-20-1996)
B. The franchise fee for the delivery of gas services shall be in an amount shown in section 3-8-1 of this title. (Ord. 220, 9-8-1998; amd. Ord. 246, 12-3-2007)
