§ 132.01 DISCHARGE OF FIREARMS.
   (A)   Discharge prohibited. Within the corporate limits of the city, it shall be unlawful for any person to fire or discharge, or to permit or allow to be fired or discharged, any firearm, gun, pistol, revolver, rifle, shotgun, BB gun, gas gun, dart gun, crossbow, blowgun, slingshot, cannon or any other weapon or device designed to propel a projectile which might cause injury to the person, to another person or to an animal, or which might cause damage to property.

   (B)   Allowing discharge prohibited. It shall be unlawful for the parent, guardian or other adult person having care or custody of a minor under the age of 18 years to knowingly permit the minor to violate division (A) above.

   (C)   Discharge from real property or vehicles. It shall be unlawful for any person to knowingly permit violations of divisions (A) or (B) above to occur on real property owned or otherwise legally controlled by the person, or to permit violations of divisions (A) or (B) above to be committed from any vehicle owned or driven by the person.

   (D)   Exemptions.
      (1)   Persons acting for any governmental unit in pursuance of their duties and in compliance with the law;
      (2)   Any person in defense of his or her life or the life of another person;
      (3)   Any person attacked by a vicious animal;
      (4)   Any sanctioned or sponsored training or shooting activity which is held in a proper location and approved by the Police Chief; or
      (5)   Bow and arrow practice on private property which is related to any sanctioned or sponsored training or shooting activity held in a proper location and approved by the Police Chief.
