Council by resolution may appoint one or more persons to serve at the pleasure of Council as Deputy City Clerk and Deputy City Treasurer. One person may be appointed in the capacity as Deputy of each office. The person or persons so appointed shall be subject to and shall discharge the duties of the said offices in the manner and as prescribed by the City Charter and the general laws of the State.
