§ 98.06 MINIMUM STANDARDS FOR VENTILATION.
   (A)   General. Every habitable room shall have at least one window or skylight facing directly to the outdoors for adequate ventilation or shall have an approved mechanical ventilation system. At least one window or exterior door in every sleeping room shall be of such size and location to allow egress by an average adult in the event of fire or other emergency.
   (B)   Habitable rooms. Every habitable room shall have at least one window or skylight which can easily be opened, or such other device as will adequately ventilate the room. The total openable window area in every habitable room shall be equal to at least 45% of the minimum window area size or minimum skylight type window size as required, or shall have other approved, equivalent ventilation.
   (C)   Bathroom and water closet rooms. Bathrooms and water closet compartments shall be provided with aggregate glazing area in windows of not less than three square feet, one-half of which must be openable, or shall have approved mechanical ventilation. A violation of this section is punishable as a misdemeanor.
