All officers of the city elected or appointed for a regular term of office or to complete the unexpired portion of any regular term shall be included in the definition of EMPLOYEE as defined in Minnesota Statutes relating to coverage for purposes of workers’ compensation entitlement.

(A) When not otherwise provided for by law, compensation of all officers and employees of the city shall be set by the City Council.
(B) Authorization. Pursuant to M.S. § 415.11, the City Council establishes the salaries of the Mayor and Councilmembers in an amount that the Council has deemed reasonable. No change in salary shall take effect until the next succeeding municipal election.
(1) Mayor salary. The salary for the Mayor shall be set at $100 per regular meeting and $100 per special meeting.
(2) Councilmember salary. The salary for each Councilmember shall be set at $75 per regular meeting and $75 per special meeting.

The following officers shall be appointed by the Council on the first meeting in January of each year except as otherwise indicated, and shall hold office at the pleasure of the Council.
(A) Acting Mayor.
(B) City Engineer.
(C) City Planner.
(D) City Attorney.
(E) Building Inspector.
(F) Animal Control.
(G) Other Council committees as are deemed appropriate for the efficient and orderly management of the city.
(H) Other officers and employees as shall be provided from time to time by ordinances or resolutions.

All bonds required by statute or otherwise required by the Council for any city officer or employee shall be renewable annually and approved by the Council at the first meeting in January of each year. Bond premiums shall be paid out of the city treasury when due.
