A food establishment licensed at the time of enactment of this chapter which must undertake alterations or remodeling of its present facilities in order to comply with the minimum requirements of this chapter may apply for an extension of time to complete such work. Upon such application, the Health Officer shall grant a reasonable time, not to exceed six months, for completion of such alterations or remodeling if good cause is shown.
