The designated official is authorized to and shall place and maintain official traffic control signs, signals and devices when and as required under the traffic ordinances of this city to make effective the provisions of the ordinances. The designated official is also authorized to place and maintain such additional traffic control signs, signals, and devices as he/she may deem necessary to regulate, warn or guide traffic for the protection of citizens and/or the promotion of the orderly flow of traffic within the city.
