9-1-1: CODES ADOPTED:
   A.   Adoption Of Building Codes: The approved editions of the following nationally recognized codes, as adopted by the State of Idaho or the Idaho Building Code Board, are adopted as the official Building Codes of the City:
      1.   International Building Code, including all rules promulgated by the board to provide equivalency with the provisions of the Americans With Disabilities Act accessibility guidelines and the Federal Fair Housing Act accessibility guidelines.
      2.   International Residential Code, parts I through IV and IX.
      3.   International Energy Conservation Code. (Ord. 173, 12-9-2002)
   B.   Adoption Of Fire Codes: The following are hereby adopted by the City for the purpose of prescribing regulations regarding conditions hazardous to life and property from fire or explosions: 1) that certain code and standard known as the International Fire Code, including appendices; and 2) the International Fire Code standards published by the Western Fire Chiefs Association and the International Conference of Building Officials, being particularly the latest editions thereof.    C.   Successive Codes Adopted: The adopted versions of the foregoing codes shall be deemed superseded by successive versions of such codes as they are adopted or approved by the Idaho Building Code Board effective on the date any such codes are made effective by the Idaho Building Code Board.
   D.   Agricultural Buildings Exempted: Agricultural buildings are exempt from the Building Codes adopted herein but shall remain subject to placement requirements established by zoning regulations. (Ord. 173, 12-9-2002)
   E.   Copies On File: One copy of each of the codes and standards adopted in this section have been and now are filed with the City Clerk for use and inspection by the public. (2011 Code)
9-1-2: BUILDING PERMITS:
   A.   Permit Required: No person shall erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, convert or demolish any building or structure in the City or cause the same to be done without first obtaining a building permit for each such building or structure from the City building inspector and paying the appropriate fee pursuant to the building permit fee schedule which shall be established by resolution of the City Council.    B.   Filing Of Application For Permit: To apply for a permit, the applicant shall first file an application therefor in writing on a form furnished for the purpose by the City building inspector, who shall determine the acceptability of the request in conformance with the International Building Code, and who shall thereupon issue or deny the application.
