The Chief of Police is hereby directed and authorized to mark off individual parking spaces in the parking zones designated and described in § 72.07 of this chapter and in such other zones as may hereafter be established, said parking spaces to be designated by lines painted or durably marked on the curbing or surface of the street. All parking shall be either parallel to the curb or so-called angle parking as the case may be and as designated at the place of each parking space. Each parking space shall be seven feet wide and approximately 22 feet long except each end parking space shall be approximately 18 feet long. At each space so marked off it shall be unlawful to park any vehicle in such a way that said vehicle shall not be entirely within the limits of the space so designated. In the case of parallel parking, the right front wheel of the vehicle shall be immediately opposite and/or nearest the parking meter so installed.
