For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
ARCADE HALL. A commercial establishment where five or more mechanical games are available on the premises for operation by members of the public.
DISTRIBUTOR. Any person who places any mechanical games, as herein defined, in any place or establishment, for operation and for the purpose of receiving any type of compensation.
MECHANICAL GAME. A pinball machine, a skee ball machine, shuffleboard or miniature pool table, or any similar machine, instrument, device or contrivance which is an object of commerce that is operated for a pecuniary obligation, including but not limited, to those machines activated by the insertion of United States currency or any tokens.
OWNER. Any person who owns, operates or conducts any place or establishment in which any mechanical game, as herein defined, may be operated.
PERSON. A natural person, partnership, corporation, association or other legal entity.
PINBALL MACHINE. A mechanical, electrical or other device, apparatus, or machine which, for pecuniary obligation, including, but not limited to, machines activated by insertion of a United States currency or any token, is available to play or operate and the play or operation of which, whether by reason of the skill of the operator or the application of an element of chance, or both, enables the person playing or operating the machine to score points as a ball or object propelled or stimulated by an electronic or mechanical impulse touches pins or targets, or entitles the person playing or operating the machine to score points as a ball or object propelled or stimulated by an electronic or mechanical impulse touches pins or targets, or entitles the person playing or operating the machine to replay it at no additional cost.
