§ 91.002 PROHIBITION ON USE OF CONSUMER FIREWORKS.
   (A)   No person shall ignite, discharge or use consumer fireworks within the City of Hamtramck, except this prohibition shall not preclude any person from the ignition, discharge and use of consumer fireworks on the following days after 11:00 a.m.:
      (1)   December 31 until 1:00 a.m. on January 1.
      (2)   The Saturday and Sunday immediately preceding Memorial Day until 11:45 p.m. on each of those days.
      (3)   June 29 to July 4 until 11:45 p.m. on each of those days.
      (4)   July 5, if that date is a Friday or Saturday, until 11:45 p.m.
      (5)   The Saturday and Sunday immediately preceding Labor Day until 11:45 p.m. on each of those days.
      (6)   Eid al-Adha until 11:45 p.m.
      (7)   Eid-al-Fitr (End of Ramadan) until 11:45 p.m.
      (8)   Hijra (Islamic New Year) until 11:45 p.m.
   (B)   This provision does not apply to City of Hamtramck sponsored events.
   (C)   Any person violating any of the provisions of this section shall upon conviction be imposed a civil fine of $1,000 for each violation of the ordinance and no other fine or sanction. Remittance of $500 of the fine collected under the ordinance shall be provided to the local law enforcement agency responsible for enforcing the ordinance.
