(A) Nothing in this chapter shall be so construed as to prevent a taxicab regularly licensed in other cities from bringing in and depositing passengers in this city where the passengers were picked up outside of the city, and these taxicabs may pick up passengers in the city for delivery outside of the city where they have received a telephone call from the passenger.
(B) It shall be unlawful for taxicabs not licensed in the city to accept passengers within the city for delivery to any point within the city. However, where more than 1 passenger are to be picked up at the same place in response to a telephone call who are going in the same general direction, 1 or more of whom are going outside of the city, it shall be lawful for the taxicab to discharge 1 or more of the passengers along the route even though within the city.
