§ 123.02 RIGHT OF POLICE TO MAKE INQUIRIES.
Any police officer shall have the right and duty to make reasonable inquiry of any person discovered by the police officer to be engaged in, or who reasonably appears to be engaged in, the operation of a public garage to ascertain whether the public garage is licensed, or whether or not any other provision of this chapter is being violated. Failure to display or produce a license for a public garage or failure to display or produce a proper document showing legal ownership of the motor vehicle involved shall be prima facie evidence of a violation committed in the officer’s presence.
