§ 114.16 LICENSE REQUIRED; APPLICATION.
   (A)   It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in, carry on, maintain or conduct the business of buying, selling or dealing in motor vehicles in the city unless and until that person shall have applied for and received a license to do so from the City Controller.
   (B)   Any person desiring to obtain a license to conduct, maintain, carry on or engage in the business of buying, selling or dealing in motor vehicles shall make application therefor, in writing, to the City Controller.
   (C)   The application for a license under this chapter will require a criminal background check to be performed by the Hammond Police Department.
   (D)   All application forms for a license under this chapter shall be prescribed and furnished by the City Controller and shall contain the following information:
      (1)   The name and post office address of the applicant;
      (2)   Whether the applicant is a person, firm, partnership or corporation; and
      (3)   The street number of the building, structure, or place in which the applicant intends to carry on, maintain, conduct or engage in the business.
   (E)   Approval of a license under this chapter to do business on one location by the Licensing Committee does not, in itself, warrant the issuance of a second license to do business on a second location. Additional licenses sought by any person shall be considered separately by the Committee, and each application for a license covering additional locations may be rejected by the Committee, for cause, as provided in this chapter.
