§ 98.24 SALE OF UNCLAIMED VEHICLES.
   In the event the junked motor vehicle or parts thereof is not repossessed within a period of 60 days from the date of impounding, the Chief of Police shall be authorized to offer the junked motor vehicle or parts thereof for sale to the highest and best bidder at a public auction, which shall be held not later than 10 days after 1 publication and notice of the sale has been published in a newspaper of general circulation in the city. The proceeds from the sale shall be used to pay towing expenses if the vehicle has been privately towed, and to pay rental in any impounding yard where the junked motor vehicle or parts thereof was held.
