§ 32.24 SALARY RATES AND CLASSIFICATIONS.
   (A)   Active members shall receive such salary as is set out in the annual salary ordinance.
   (B)   An active member of the Department may not be required, except in the case of a public emergency as determined by the city executive, to work more than 6 days of 8 hours in 1 week, or more than an average of 48 hours per week in 1 year. (See I.C. 36-8-4-8)
   (C)   An active member of the Department who works any time over 8 hours in any shift or over 40 hours a week average, including court appearances shall be compensated at the rate established in the annual salary ordinance.
   (D)   Upon completion of 8 continuous years of service with the Department and subject to approval by the Board of Public Works and Safety, a first-class patrol officer will obtain the rank of corporal for salary and wage purposes.
   (E)   Specialty pay for certain positions will be compensated at the rate established in the annual salary ordinance.
   (F)    Longevity pay will be compensated at the rate established in the annual salary ordinance.
