§ 32.20 EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS.
   (A)   General qualifications for appointment as a member of the Police Department shall be governed by I.C. 36-8-3.5-12.
   (B)   Additional requirements include the following:
      (1)   Applicant must be able to read and write the English language;
      (2)   Applicant must be at least 21 years of age or attain the age within 60 days of filing the application; and
      (3)   Applicant must be a good moral character.
   (C)   When and if a conditional offer of employment is made, applicant must be able to meet the physical and mental requirements established by the Board of Pension Trustees.
   (D)   The Police Department shall not fail or refuse to hire, or discharge any individual, or otherwise discriminate against any individual with respect to his or her compensation, terms, conditions or privileges of employment, because of the individual’s race, color, religion, sex or national origin. Neither shall the Department limit, segregate or classify its employees or applicants for employment in any way which would deprive or tend to deprive any individual of employment, because of the individual’s race, color, religion, sex or natural origin.
