§ 91.073 IMPOUNDMENT; NOTICE TO OWNER; CRITERIA FOR RECLAIMING OF ANIMALS.
   (A)   Unrestrained, nuisance, abused and neglected animals shall be taken by the police, Animal Control Officer or humane officers and impounded in an animal shelter and there confined in a humane manner.
   (B)   Impounded dogs and cats shall be kept for not less than 3 working days before becoming property of city’s Animal Control.
   (C)   If by a license tag or other means, the owner of the impounded animal can be identified, the Animal Control Officer shall immediately upon impoundment notify the owner by telephone, mail or some other means, including, but not limited to leaving notice at the location where the animal was discovered at the time of seizure and impoundment.
   (D)   Any owner seeking to reclaim the seized or impounded animal must provide:
      (1)   Proof of ownership;
      (2)   Payment of fees under § 91.074;
      (3)   Photo identification of owner showing current address;
      (4)   Proof of valid rabies vaccination or proof of prepaid rabies vaccination receipt from a licensed veterinarian; and
      (5)   Proof of current animal license from the city.
