It shall be the duty of the City Clerk to cause all ordinances requiring publication by law, to be published according to law immediately after their passage. The City Clerk shall at the time procure the proper proof of the publication of the ordinance and file and preserve the ordinance in his or her office, with the other public documents of the city.
