§ 30.02 ELECTION OF PRESIDENT, VICE-PRESIDENT; TERM.
   (A)   The Mayor may act as temporary chairperson at the first meeting of the Common Council after the inaugural of elected officials of the city. In the absence of the Mayor, the Council shall elect a temporary chairperson for this meeting from their ranks by majority vote of the members present.
   (B)   The meeting shall be conducted in accordance with state law relative to election of officers of the Common Council.
   (C)   (1)   A President and a Vice-President shall serve for a period of 1 year.
      (2)   The election shall be conducted at each annual date thereafter except as otherwise specified in this chapter.
