(A) Generally. The standards, rules, tests, charts, maps and regulations as set forth in Volume III of the Plumbing Rules and Regulations of the State Administrative Building Council and all future supplements and amendments thereto, are hereby incorporated into this chapter, except to the extent that this chapter or amendments thereto shall be in conflict, in which event this chapter or ordinances amendatory thereof shall prevail.
(B) Filing and availability of copies. At least 2 copies of Volume III of the Plumbing Rules and Regulations of the State Administrative Building Council are now on file at the office of the City Clerk for public inspection. At least 2 copies, together with all amendments and supplements thereto, shall be kept available at the City Clerk’s office for public inspection.
(C) Applicability. This chapter and the rules and regulations adopted herein shall govern and regulate plumbing and plumbing installation and plumbing systems in all buildings and building additions and alterations within the city, including private residences of 1- and 2-family dwelling units and out-buildings in connection therewith and including barns and private garages.
(D) Amendments. The standards, rules, tests, charts, maps and regulations as set forth in Volume III of the Plumbing Rules and Regulations of the state’s Administrative Building Council, as amended and adopted, are hereby amended to read as follows.
(1) The following language is hereby deleted from § 1003 Volume III of the Plumbing Rules and Regulations, as amended and adopted by the state’s Administrative Building Council.
“The requirements of this Section need not apply to wall mounted hose attachments for laundry purposes, outside sill cocks or frost-proof sill cocks.”
(2) There is hereby added to § 1003 Volume III of the Plumbing Rules and Regulations, as amended and adopted by the State Administrative Building Council, the following subsection 1003 (q), as amended by the State Administrative Building Council.
“Valve outlets for hose attachments. Valve outlets with hose attachments shall be protected by an approved vacuum breaker. The vacuum breaker may be permanently attached to the hose threads of the valve outlet, or may be an integral part of the valve. The vacuum breaker is not required for wall mounted hose attachments for laundry purposes.”
