(A) Every corporation doing business within the city in heating, ventilating and cooling, shall have a licensed heating contractor as a bona fide officer or employee of such corporation and who shall at all times be in actual charge of heating, ventilating and cooling work done by such corporation. Additionally, every corporation shall obtain a license certificate in its name prior to doing business in the city. The license certificate shall be issued upon application on a form provided by the City Controller’s office, containing the following information.
(1) Name of corporation, date and state of incorporation;
(2) Name and home address of each officer and shareholder of the corporation;
(3) The name or names of each tradestyle used by the corporation;
(4) The name of an agent at an address who will unequivocally accept certified mail on behalf of the corporation; and
(5) The name of its licensed heating contractor.
(B) For purposes of this chapter,
DOING BUSINESS shall mean:
(1) Having supplied or contracted to supply services rendered or to be rendered or goods or materials furnished or to be furnished by this city within the calendar year;
(2) Advertising in any publication regularly circulated within the city, including but not limited to phone directories, newspapers and magazines, within the calendar year; and
(3) Offering or having offered to do that delineated in division (B)(1) above.
(C) Anything herein to the contrary notwithstanding these provisions shall apply only to corporations engaged in erection, installation, alteration, repairs, relocation, replacement, addition to, use or maintenance of ventilating, heating, or cooling systems and are not intended to apply to corporations engaged solely in the manufacture or resale of equipment within the city and not to municipal corporations or other governmental agencies.
