§ 154.02 BOARD OF EXAMINERS.
   (A)   Board created, officers designated. There is hereby created a board of heating, ventilating, and cooling examiners (HVAC) which shall consist of 7 members to serve 2 year terms starting with the date of passage of the ordinance codified herein, and shall be referred to herein as the HVAC Board of Examiners. Membership of the Board shall consist of:
      (1)   The Building Commissioner;
      (2)   Heating Inspector;
      (3)   Two members to be appointed by the President of the Hammond Common Council and serve at his or her pleasure;
      (4)   An employee of the Building Department who shall serve as secretary for the board;
      (5)   One lay members who are residents of Hammond;
      (6)   One licensed heating, ventilating and cooling contractor. The Building Commissioner shall be the Chairperson of the Board of Examiners and the presence of 4 members shall constitute a quorum. The actions of the Board shall be by majority vote of those present at the meeting. All members of the Board must be Hammond residents.
   (B)   Meetings of Board. Meetings of the Board of Examiners shall be on the first Tuesday of the months of January, April, July, and October in each year. Special meetings of the Board may be held at the call of the Chairman when deemed necessary, provided that five days written notice be given each member. Notice shall be deemed given when deposited in the United States mail, properly addressed, with first class postage affixed thereto.
   (C)   Compensation. Each member of the Board if present at the meeting shall be compensated for his or her time as per Executive Order 15-32.
