§ 150.058 DISCONNECTION OF UTILITY SERVICE TO CONDEMNED BUILDINGS; RECONNECTION.
   (A)   When an Inspector from either the offices of the Code Enforcement Commissioner or the Fire Department reports to the Code Enforcement Commissioner that a condemned home is now unoccupied, the Code Enforcement Commissioner shall be empowered to and shall issue an order to the Water Department of the city to disconnect the water supply to the building, and shall issue an order to the public utility supplying electricity to the structure to disconnect its electrical supply.
   (B)   The Water Department and the public utility dispensing electricity shall not be allowed to reconnect their respective utility to a condemned structure until that time when the Code Enforcement Commissioner issues a certificate for renewed service.
   (C)   A certificate for renewal of service shall be issued only upon the recommendation of at least 2 of the 4 following inspection departments:
      (1)   The Fire Department;
      (2)   The Code Enforcement Department;
      (3)   The Building Department;
      (4)   The Inspection Body of the Department of Redevelopment.
   (D)   Once a finding is made that the condemned or unoccupied structure has satisfied the minimum housing and building code requirements, passes inspection and pays a gas reconnection inspection fee of $25, then gas service to the structure may be turned on.
