(A) The Senior Citizens Commission shall consist of 9 persons appointed by the Mayor for 4-year terms, provided that of the members first appointed, 3 shall hold office for 1 year; 2 for 2 years; 2 for 3 years; and 2 for 4 years, and until their respective successors are duly appointed and qualified.
(B) Commission members shall be broadly representative of the community and shall be individuals who by background, experience, training, profession and age shall have special interests and knowledge in the affairs and needs of persons 60 years of age or older.
