Any person violating, or failing to comply with, the provisions and requirements of this code or any ordinance of the city, is guilty of a misdemeanor. Except in cases where a different punishment is prescribed in a specific section of this code, or by any ordinance of the city, any person convicted of a misdemeanor under the provisions of this code, or the ordinances of the city, shall be punished by a fine not to exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) or by imprisonment not exceeding six (6) months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
