5.28.030: ACCURATE RECORDS OF ALL TRANSACTIONS REQUIRED:
Every person subject to the provisions of this chapter is required to keep accurate, legible records of all transactions described in section 5.28.010 of this chapter, which record shall include, without limitation, the date and time personal property was taken into possession, whether as security for a loan or purchased or received for resale, an accurate description of the personal property, and the person from whom such property was received. All descriptions of said personal property shall include, whenever possible, the brand name, model and serial number of the item or items received. The description of the person from whom such property is received shall include said individual's full name, date of birth, a physical description, the individual's social security number or driver's license number and the individual's physical (street) home address and mailing address. All such records shall be prepared in duplicate on forms approved by the chief of police and the duplicate copy shall be furnished to any police officer upon the official request of such officer. No such record shall be altered, erased, obliterated or defaced. All personal property described in such record shall be open to the official inspection of any police officer during reasonable business hours. (Ord. 596 § 3, 1992)
