(A) (1) There is hereby adopted by the City Council for the purpose of establishing rules and regulations for the conservation of energy that certain code known as the Building Officials and Code Administrators (BOCA) Basic Energy Conservation Code, 1981 Edition.
(2) The BOCA Basic Energy Conservation Code, 1981 Edition, is hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein and from and after September 15, 1981, the provisions thereof shall be controlling within the limits of the city.
(B) (1) It is noted that the BOCA Basic Energy Conservation Code is updated by a new edition every three years.
(2) Any new edition of the BOCA Basic Energy Conservation Code shall be controlling within the limits of the city unless and until the City Council, by ordinance passed, amends any provision of the new edition.
