If any awning within the fire limits of the city shall, by reason of its construction or use or from decay or any other cause, be reported to be dangerous or unsafe so as to endanger life, limb or property, it shall be the duty of the Authority having jurisdiction to immediately inspect the awning or structure, and if he or she deems the same dangerous and unsafe, he or she shall cause the same to be made safe, removed or destroyed in the same manner and according to the same procedure provided by the article relating to unsafe structures.
