§ 54.050 PROHIBITION OF LEAD PIPES, SOLDER AND FLUX.
   (A)   Lead service pipes and the use of lead containing plumbing materials for the installation or repair of any residential or nonresidential facility connected to the borough’s public water supply system is prohibited. For the purposes of this section, solders and flux shall be consider lead free if they contain less than 0.20% lead AND pipe and pipe fittings shall be considered lead free if they contain less than 0.25% lead.
   (B)   If the borough discovers a service connection to an existing lead service pipe or plumbing materials/fittings that contain lead, the property owner shall be provided notice and the lead service pipe and/or lead containing plumbing materials or fittings shall be replaced at the property owner’s expense. Failure to remove the lead pipe or plumbing materials/fittings containing lead shall constitute grounds for the borough to initiate termination of the consumer’s water service.
