The maximum speed for any vehicle upon that section of Pitt Street beginning at a point 500 feet east of the school property line, and extending 500 feet west of the school property line, and extending 500 feet west of the school property line, shall be 35 mph between the hours of 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. on each day that the school is in session. Any person, firm or corporation violating the provisions of this schedule shall, upon conviction, be guilty of a misdemeanor, and shall be punished in accordance with G.S. § 14-4.
