(a) The owner of each new and existing dwelling unit shall install smoke detectors as required by this Article.
(b) The owner of each dwelling unit shall install smoke detectors as required by this ordinance within ninety (90) days of the effective date of this ordinance.
(c) No residential property may be sold or traded in the City of Greenwood, Indiana, unless and until the seller installs or provides for installation of smoke detectors in accordance with Section 6-154 below, as
applicable. This requirement may be met by the seller placing in an escrow account for the buyer sufficient funds to pay for said installation. (Ord. 91-50, § 5-118 (a) - (c), 2-3-92).
(d) The owner of each Class I structure which is substantially rehabilitated under a building permit issued after the effective date of this ordinance shall install automatic detection devices as required by law. (Ord. 93-5, § 5-118 (d), 2-15-93).
