(A) Generally. Except as otherwise permitted under a cooperative parking plan, off-street parking facilities shall be located on the lots on which the use or structure for which they are provided is located.
(B) Rear parking.
(1) For purposes of this section,
REAR PARKING means that parking areas are located between the principal building and the rear lot line or an alley, or interior to a block.
(2) All parking areas in the following districts shall be rear parking: “NU” (Neighborhood Urban), “CN” (Commercial Neighborhood), “D” (Downtown) and “MX” (Mixed Use).
(3) All parking areas for the TND and TOD use patterns shall be rear parking.
(4) Parking to the rear of the principal use or principal building is encouraged in all other zoning districts or use patterns.
(5) Rear parking areas that are screened from the view of public streets by the principal buildings are exempt from the parking lot screening requirements of the landscaping standards (§§ 153.1175 through 153.1177) of this chapter. (See Figure 153.1299(A) of this chapter.)
