(A) Table 153.1190(A) of this chapter provides the calculation for each of the three sizes of trees as required to create the minimum shade coverage.
(B) The minimum shade coverage shall be determined in accordance with the following formula:
A x B = C
where:
A = percent of site requiring coverage (25%);
B = square feet of parking lot area (10,000 square feet); and
C = total number of square feet needed for shade.
Example:
0.20 x 10,000 = 2,000
Large tree = 1,200 square feet of shade
(2,000/1,200 square feet = 1 tree)
Small tree = 550 square feet of shade (2,000/550 square feet = 3 trees)
