(a) Upon completion of any applicable probationary period, employees not covered by wage agreements will receive two days of personal leave annually with pay at the employee's regular base rate of pay. Such personal leave shall be subject to the approval of the employee's supervisor and shall be preceded by a request for personal leave submitted by the employee not less than 24 hours prior to the requested date for such personal leave. Such personal leave may be taken in one-hour increments, subject to supervisor approval.
(b) In the case of the death of a City employee, such employee's unused personal leave shall be paid in accordance with Ohio R.C. 2113.04 to his or her estate. Such compensation shall be at the employee's last base rate of pay. In order to be eligible for the payment authorized by this division, an employee shall have had at least one year of service with the City.
(c) No payment for accumulated personal leave shall be made to, or for the benefit of, any employee who retires or is otherwise voluntarily or involuntarily separated from service with the City.
