252.07   FUNERAL LEAVE.
   Paid leave for a death in the immediate family of an employee may be granted by the department head for up to five consecutive calendar days. Proof of death and the relationship to the deceased may be required. The immediate family is defined as the spouse, parent, parent-in-law, grandparent, grandparent-in-law, grandchild, half-brother, half-sister, step-parent, child, step-child, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, aunt or uncle of the employee. Other relatives living in the same household as the employee shall also be considered to be within the employee's immediate family. Upon application, bereavement leave for persons, in addition to that provided in this section, may be granted upon the approval of the relevant department head. In the event the funeral service should occur on a non-scheduled work day, the employee may be granted paid leave on a preceding work day or a work day immediately following the funeral service.
