Any person who fails to stop at any intersection where a stop sign has been erected pursuant to any ordinances providing for stop signs to be erected or who fails to yield the right-of-way at any of the intersections where a yield sign has been erected pursuant to the provisions of any ordinances of the town shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to a penalty.
