(A) It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in the business of being a peddler or to engage in the pursuit of being a solicitor within the corporate limits of the city without first obtaining a peddler's and solicitor's license as herein provided for.
(B) Each license to be used by a peddler shall give authority for only one individual to peddle under said license and said licensee shall not be permitted to sell by agent or clerk on the authority of his or her license it being a requirement hereof that each agent or clerk must procure a separate license.
(C) Each peddler or solicitor while engaged in peddling or soliciting shall carry his or her license and shall exhibit same if requested to do so by any citizen or police officer.
(D) Residents of the city shall not be required to obtain permits for solicitation for charitable or non-profit organizations provided that proper identification issued by said organization is carried by said residents at all times solicitations are being made.
