(A) The following pollutant limits are established to protect against pass through and/or organically overloading the POTW. No person shall discharge wastewater containing in excess of the following maximum daily discharge limits:
0.02 mg/l cadmium
2.50 mg/l total chromium
0.20 mg/l hexavalent chromium
0.20 mg/l copper
0.09 mg/l cyanide
0.25 mg/l lead
0.0004 mg/l mercury
0.10 mg/l molybdenum
1.20 mg/l nickel
100 mg/l oil and grease
2.00 mg/l zinc
15.0 mg/l Total petroleum hydrocarbons
0.050 mg/l benzene
0.500 mg/l Total BTEX (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylene)
750 mg/l Five-day Biochemical Oxygen Demand
750 mg/l Total Suspended Solids by weight
(B) The above limits apply at the point where the wastewater is discharged to the POTW. All concentrations for metallic substances are for "total" metal unless indicated otherwise. The Superintendent may impose mass limitations in addition to, or in place of, the concentration-based limitations above.
(C) The Superintendent may develop best management practices (BMPs), by ordinance or in individual wastewater discharge permits, to implement local limits and the requirements of § 50.007.
