(A) City offices and departments shall observe the hours of work designated and established by the Mayor. The regular work hours may be changed by the Mayor upon one week’s notice to each department head. Certain departments may maintain varied work schedules under special employment conditions set forth by governing statutes.
(B) Employees shall be relieved of all duties and be free to leave their posts during their lunch time, unless otherwise directed by the department head.
(C) Department heads will advise employees of the times their schedules will normally begin and end. Work hours may be temporarily altered to flex work schedules at the discretion of the department head. Any permanent change to work hours must be approved by the Mayor.
(D) (1) Mayor’s Office and Plan Department: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday with a one-hour unpaid meal period per workday. A normal week’s work shall consist of 35 hours. Work schedule changes shall be approved by the Mayor.
(2) City Clerk-Treasurer: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday with a one-hour unpaid meal period per workday. A normal week’s work shall consist of 35 hours. Work schedule changes shall be approved by the Clerk-Treasurer.
(3) City Engineer and/or the Director of Public Projects, Utilities, and Water Office: 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday with a one-hour unpaid meal period per workday. A normal week’s work shall consist of 40 hours. Work schedule changes shall be approved by the Mayor.
(4) Street Department, Sewer, Sewer Plant, Water Plant Laborers, and Sanitation Department: 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and one- hour unpaid meal period per workday. A normal week’s work shall consist of 40 hours. Work schedule changes shall be approved by the Mayor.
(5) Water Plant Operators: Operators shall work one of the following two shifts: 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Employees shall work on a 28-day work schedule. Operators shall have a one-hour paid meal period per workday. Work schedule changes shall be approved by the Mayor.
