§ 35.01 ESTABLISHED.
   There is established a Fire Department in and for the city which shall be under the control and management of the Board of Public Works and Safety.

§ 35.02 CHIEF OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT.
   (A)   The Mayor shall appoint the Chief of the Fire Department.

   (B)   The Chief of the Fire Department shall have charge of all the fire-fighting apparatus belonging to the city, and shall be responsible for the safekeeping and care of the same. He shall have command and control of the entire Department when in active service at fires, and the general supervision of the members of the Department at all times. The Chief shall see that all ordinances of the city and state regulations for the prevention of fires and protection of properties against fires are enforced and shall comply with directives of the Board of Public Works and Safety.
