§ 34.02 CHIEF OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT.
   (A)   The Mayor shall appoint the Chief of the Police Department and designate such other assistant chiefs and officers as necessary.

   (B)   The Chief of the Police Department shall have charge of all the Police Department apparatus belonging to the city, and shall be responsible for the safekeeping and care of the same. He shall have command and control of the entire Department and the general supervision of the members of the Department at all times. The Chief shall see that all ordinances of the city and state regulations for the prevention of crime are enforced and shall comply with directives of the Board of Public Works and Safety.
