An annual fee for each calendar year is imposed upon all amusement devices, jukeboxes and vending machines operated for gain or profit in the amount as prescribed by Section 13-1-4-2 of this Chapter, as amended.
The fee shall be paid by the owner of the device to the Village Clerk. The Village Clerk shall issue evidence of such payment of said fee, a self-adhesive fee emblem to be placed on each device. Such emblem shall be issued to a specific machine and shall bear the wording as may be prescribed by the Village Board of Trustees. It shall be unlawful for any person to mutilate said fee emblem or to transfer said fee emblem to another machine during the year for which it is issued.
It shall be unlawful for the owner of the machine and the owner or lessee of any premises or person in control of such premises to permit the installation or use of an amusement device, jukebox or vending machine within the Village for gain or profit unless the fee has been paid and is evidenced by the fee emblem affixed to the machine. Each such device shall be plainly labeled with the name, address and telephone number of its owner. The owner of the machine must apply for and be issued the license to operate the machine in the Village. (Ord. 97-08, 6-11-1997)
