ADOPTING ORDINANCE
ORDINANCE NO. 88-16
AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE VILLAGE CODE OF
THE VILLAGE OF GREEN OAKS, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Green Oaks have heretofore employed Sterling Codifiers, Inc. to prepare a codification of the ordinances of the Village; and,
WHEREAS, Sterling Codifiers have submitted a Village Code which has been reviewed by the President and Board of Trustees, and they are of the opinion that the said Code fairly and reasonably codifies all of the existing ordinances of the Village other than those relating to tax levies, special services areas, annexations and other similar special situations; and,
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees deem it in the best interests of the Village to adopt the said codification as the Village Code of Green Oaks, Illinois;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT AND IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF GREEN OAKS, COUNTY OF LAKE, STATE OF ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The loose leaf document, entitled "Village Code of Green Oaks, 1988" consisting of nine Titles and an Index thereto, a copy whereof is attached to this Ordinance, is hereby adopted as the Village Code of the Village of Green Oaks.
SECTION 2. The Village Code herein adopted, as hereafter amended from time to time, shall be the Code of the Village and the provisions thereof shall supersede the terms and provisions of any ordinances of the Village heretofore adopted in so far as there is any conflict between said Code and the said heretofore adopted ordinances.
SECTION 3. Notwithstanding the adoption of this Village Code, the terms and provisions of any ordinance of the Village heretofore adopted shall remain in full force and effect in so far as the said Code does not deal with the topic thereof or conflict with the terms thereof.
SECTION 4. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5. That this ordinance shall be published by authority of the Village Authorities in pamphlet form and placed on file in the office of the Village Clerk, and the Village Clerk shall record the passage hereof in the Ordinance Record Book.
SECTION 6. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication according to law.
