A. Purpose: It is the purpose of this section to establish an impact fee which will, in part, offset the expenses and costs to the village which are inherent in expanding the services and infrastructure of the village, and which arise as a result of the increase in population and service needs caused by the construction of new residences and commercial or industrial buildings within the village.
B. Impact Fees Created: There is hereby created a building impact fee to be paid by the applicant at the time of issuance of any building permit in the village for any structure. Applicants for accessory building and similar structure permits in residential districts where principal structures are already in existence shall not be required to pay a building impact fee. C. Impact Fee Rates: The building impact fee shall be computed upon the basis of the size of the building and the type or use of the building as provided in the following schedule:
Single-family residences | $0.15 per square foot |
Office, industrial, warehouse | 0.50 per square foot |
Retail | 0.50 per square foot |

D. Collection Of Fees: The building commissioner shall collect the building impact fees herein established at the time of issuance of the building permit and the building impact fee shall be in addition to all other fees and charges provided for by the ordinances of the village.
