7-3-8-2: BUILDING PERMITS; DAMAGE DEPOSITS:
The fees set forth, from time to time, by resolution of the corporate authorities for building permits shall be paid to the village prior to the issue of a building permit. The square footage used to calculate various fees shall be based on the outside dimensions of the building or structure. All applications for a building permit for a principal building or a permit to place fill upon or remove fill from a lot shall be accompanied by a cash bond or approved letter of credit, to be deposited with the village treasurer, to indemnify the village against damage to roads, ditches, culverts, etc. The amount of the bond or letter of credit shall be as set forth, from time to time, by resolution of the corporate authorities. The village shall have the right to use all or part of the deposit as may be necessary to return the said roads, ditches, culverts, etc., to their original condition if found by the village to have been damaged by the applicant or his agents or contractors. Any unused portion of the deposit shall be refunded to applicant. (Ord. 92-28, 11-25-1992)
