The building commissioner shall examine all applications and plans within a reasonable period of time to determine whether the proposed construction or alteration will comply with the ordinance provisions relative thereto. Upon approval, one set of plans shall be returned to the applicant with a permit, and the others shall be retained by the building commissioner. No permit shall be issued until after approval of the plans. All building permit fees shall be paid prior to issuance of a permit. (Ord. 60-09, 5-2-1960; amd. 1988 Code)
