It shall be unlawful for any person to violate, disobey or refuse to comply with any "STOP" sign or other traffic control sign provided for herein in the operation of any motor vehicle at the intersections or areas designated, and any person, upon conviction, shall be fined not to exceed seven hundred fifty dollars ($750.00) for each offense.
